Ladies, indulge me for a second as I make sure that you are aware of a recent leadership addition in the women's ministry.
To be frank - so many of you women are leaders at UBC whether or not you have a title. I look to many of you to give me feedback, advice, or to pray with me over issues as we make decisions because its not wise for any, one leader to ever do things on his or her own.
Many of you may already know that when Marylin Williams moved, that left me as the sole deaconess in charge of the women's ministry. Since that time I've been very seriously praying over a partner for myself and eventually a replacement (someday) for when the Lord tells me its time to move on.
Last Sunday, at our annual business meeting, Laura Bradley was voted in officially as our second deaconess gifted with the responsibility of serving you ladies at UBC. She was already doing the work - counseling many women, my main ear to bounce ideas and concerns off of, and helping me think of things differently than I naturally do in ways that have benefitted you all.
I want to make sure I let you know of this change so you know - she is an "official" person you can bring things to for the women's ministry. Please pray for her and her family as she serves and encourages you.
And thank you. Thank you to all of you who are serving, leading, encouraging and nurturing without any kind of title. I know it humbles both Laura and myself regularly to see you and hear of the work you are doing together.
Respectfully,
Christie Russell
Deaconess, Women’s Ministry
Congratulations and welcome. As you may know I have a home church that’s not UBC and I regularly attend a weekly Bible study at Passumpsic community Baptist church, also not my home church. I am a part of the Walking in Hope group and enjoy participating in the Well. I appreciate being included in the Genesis study here but it is a lot to keep up with. I just wanted to say welcome and thanks for stepping in.
Blessings,
Connie
